I'm Wanda, a disabled Indonesian Muslim woman. My work centres mutual aid as a practice of collective survival, wealth redistribution, and systemic transformation.

I build and maintain decentralised digital infrastructure to strengthen transnational solidarity and develop community-governed alternatives to oppressive systems. This includes mutualaidspace.org, where people can submit mutual aid requests for publication and amplification across federated social networks.

I also organise weekly Mutual Aid Checkpoints to help urgent requests reach more people. I maintain the infrastructure and facilitate amplification, not the individual campaigns. The people requesting support retain control of their own campaigns.

Alongside this work, I write essays and personal reflections examining imperialism, colonialism, Islamic political theology, Orientalism, gender, disability, structural violence, and the relationship between faith, political agency, and collective liberation.

And yes, I also build my own websites, develop custom WordPress plugins, maintain ActivityPub federation tools, and troubleshoot whatever decides to break that week. Lmao.

Support & Transparency

Mutual aid is about collective survival, and that includes sustaining the people doing the work. I maintain this infrastructure independently, alongside my writing and organising. It takes time, labour, and resources, and I still need to survive while doing it.

My community support goal is $500 per week to cover living costs, healthcare, and rent savings, while redistributing up to 25% towards mutual aid. Stability for me means solidarity for us.

Up to 25% of the support I receive is redistributed to mutual aid campaigns when finances allow.

Supporting my livelihood is part of sustaining the work itself. Websites require hosting, infrastructure requires maintenance, writing requires time, and none of that labour happens independently of the person doing it.
